Welcome to The Ormond at Tetbury where we are excited to embark on a delicious new chapter with the arrival of our new Head Chef, James Edwards. Renowned for his bold flavours and commitment to local produce, James is set to elevate Bistro-23 with an innovative culinary direction. intensely flavoured, seasonal dishes that are deeply rooted in the Cotswolds while drawing inspiration from global ideas. Join us for everything from relaxed weekday lunches unforgettable celebrations, all crafted with passion and creativity.

James brings a remarkable culinary pedigree to Bistro-23, having trained under Michael Caines, worked for Gordon Ramsay at W8, Tom Kerridge at The Hand and Flowers, and most recently, the Kings Head Hotel in Cirencester as Executive Chef.

 

His signature style; ingredient-led, bold, and rooted in seasonal British cooking—makes him a natural fit for The Ormond’s warm, community-led approach to hospitality. Signature dishes will include a delicate pan seared halibut with Jersey royals, wild samphire and caper beurre noisette; and a hearty duck breast with a crispy duck croquette (bonbon), baby turnips, potato terrine and plum jus. These modern British dishes feature bold flavour pairings and locally-sourced Cotswold ingredients wherever possible.

We’re very excited to be launching a three course prix fixe lunch menu, Monday through Saturday.

For just £21.95 you’ll enjoy a starter, main and dessert (and the option to add Cotswold cheese for a supplement). We’ve designed it to showcase the best of what’s in season right now – for example, a summer menu might feature asparagus tortelloni or wild mushroom fricassee starters. Guests can then choose a main such as a locally-reared lamb shank or pan-fried hake with pea purée. To finish, expect classics with a twist – like elderflower pannacotta or mini sticky toffee pudding. In short, it’s great value for an elegant
meal. We’re really proud of the variety and quality, and we think the £21.95 price point will surprise and delight our guests.

The Ormond has long been a popular meeting place in town. With its warm, informal atmosphere it is exceptionally welcoming and with a fire and candles, newspapers, magazines and sofas, it’s a great spot to while away an evening.

We are proud to carry the Cask Marque award, so you can be sure to enjoy perfect crystal clear real ale, as well as premium draught beers and ciders.

COURTYARD GARDEN

Our courtyard garden gets more cultivated every year as our planting increases and plants mature. From spring onwards the garden is a riot of colour and a wonderful quiet oasis away from the bustle of central Tetbury.

 

The garden is open throughout the day and early evening. It is available for eating and drinking in the summer and we have a 55″ TV for watching key sporting or national events. The top part of the garden can be booked for private parties in the summer.

Breakfast is served between 7.30 -10.00  every day. 

We offer a full English or buffet of cereals, homemade muesli and granola, yogurt, pastries and fresh fruit.
