Restaurant
We know that more and more of you are interested in the provinence of the food on your plate, how many miles it’s travelled to the plate and how seasonal it is. We take a great deal of care to source products locally, but we try not to sound too worthy about it; buying locally is an ever expanding process for all of us. There are some products, such as chorizo or parmegiano reggiano which we still want to cook with, so we believe in balance.
Mariusz Przeworski
Our new head chef, Mariusz, has an outstanding track record having worked in several successful Cotswold hotels and bars before arriving at The Ormond in February 2012. His brief is simple; to deliver a consistently high level of food that meets the tastes and demands of our strong local following and utilises as many local suppliers as possible. We have already introduced a new menu format which meets this brief, whislt still retaining old favourites like the Ormond Burger. Mariusz is growing his contact with local suppliers at a vigorous rate. We’re determined to explore new opportunites and even the local allotments are part of the mix when they have an excess of vegetables to part with.
The Restaurant
The restaurant is a stylish, contemporary room with a relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for business lunches during the day, it is lit by candle light in the evening for a more intimate atmosphere. For a more casual setting you may prefer to eat in the Ormond bar and, weather permitting, in our courtyard during the summer.
